Manchester City‘s Abdul Razak was punished by the Ivory Coast for engaging in a scuffle with his team mate.

Razal, who is twenty years of age, was reprimanded and sent off in the process for physically fighting with Jean-Jacques Gosso, during the training session, ahead of their country’s World Cup qualifier against Tanzania on Sunday.

Gosso, who plays in Turkey for Mersin Idmanyurdu, was also given orders to be benched during the game, following the fight.

The altercation, which took place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny stadium in Abidjan on Wednesday between the two players, was witnessed by Manchester City football player Yaya Toure, who was seen as observing the whole squabble from the background, in disbelief.

Toure, who is a dominant midfielder, is no stranger to training ground ego clashes and fist fights and has even seen the likes of Mario Balotelli, Jerome Boateng, Micah Richards etc caught up in heated arguments back in his club.

Razak transferred from Crystal Palace’s youth programme, joining City in 2008. Though he has made five league appearances as a substitute for City, he is yet to make a mark at the Etihad Stadium.
