Bruno Fernandes could be on his way to England this summer.

What's the story?

Bruno Fernandes has excited the fans of both Manchester clubs, United and City, after his latest remark on his future move.

In case you missed it...

The Portuguese midfielder has enjoyed a stellar 2018/19 campaign for Sporting CP, having garnered 20 goals and 13 assists in Liga NOS.

The attacking midfielder was monitored by Solskjaer and he envisages Bruno as a potent outlet of goals from the midfield. Fernandes is Ole's preferred choice to replace an ageing Juan Mata.

Manchester City, meanwhile, have also entered the race to sign Bruno from Sporting as Pep Guardiola attempts to consolidate his squad for the next season. The 'Citizens' were deemed close to attain the services of the 24-year-old but recent developments suggest otherwise.

The heart of the matter...

Amid the transfer speculation, Bruno Fernandes is unsure of his club for the next season. While addressing his future earlier, he said:

"I honestly don't know.
"I like to focus on things once the season is over, when I can think with calmness. The financial aspect always weights a lot, we have a short career. But staying here, I will always be able to raise money, it's not a financial issue.

On the contrary, the midfielder's latest remark hints on a move to Manchester, either United or City. His comments read as follows:

"In England, there are many teams that are a big challenge. Obviously, there are two teams that have been talked about a lot, United and City.
"City are a team who are winning everything in England in recent years. United are one of the teams with more history.
"Each in its own way has its own importance and strengths. Obviously they are two clubs that any player would like to represent.”

What's next?

Manchester United players kick-off their pre-season campaign on July 13 against Perth Glory in Australia.
