FC Barcelona agree terms with Borussia Dortmund for the sale of Ousmane Dembele
BeIN Sports AR, a French news agency, has reported that the Catalans have struck a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the sale of Ousmane Dembele. The agency claims that Dortmund have agreed on a deal worth £110 million up front and a further £18 million in add-ons for the French attacker. The 20-year-old is seen as a direct replacement for Neymar who recently joined Paris Saint Germain in a £198 million deal.
Benedikt Howedes to stay put at Schalke 04
After being stripped off his captaincy duties before the start of the season, the experienced German defender Benedikt Howedes was linked with a move to Liverpool. But in an interview with Funke Mediengruppe, Howedes has distanced himself from all the rumours. He told the German tabloid, "I've always said that I would exclude a change within the league, but I can imagine a transfer outside the country. But the time for that, as of today, has not arrived."
The 29-year-old still has two years left on his current contract and has no potential release clause in his contractual terms.
