The report claims that the parties both aired their views during the interview as they hoped to get assurances that the relationship will indeed work out. Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia reportedly quizzed Lampard about his lack of experience, views on providing opportunities for young talent and his vision for the club.

Lampard, in return, sought clarity over the club's expectations and the amount of money they are willing to furnish once the transfer ban is lifted. The report adds that the parties reached an agreement over the financial aspects of the deal without much of a hitch.

Derby County are reportedly keen on replacing Frank Lampard with former PSV Eindhoven and Fenerbahce headcoach Phillip Cocu.
