Twitter explodes as Arsenal fans exchange blows after 2-2 draw with Manchester City

Leroy Sane opens the scoring for Manchester City

Arsenal came back twice to draw against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium and keep their slim hopes of a top 4 finish alive. The Citizens took the lead through Leroy Sane who tapped into an empty net after rounding off David Ospina

Theo Walcott equalised for the Gunners but the parity didn’t last long as Sergio Aguero put the visitors ahead once again within minutes, finding the back of the net from an acute angle. The two teams went at the break with City leading 2-1 and it promised to be an even more eventful second half.

The Gunners equalised once again through Shkodran Mustafi, who headed in Mesut Ozil’s cross – the assist was the German’s 50th since signing for the Gunners. Both sides had a series of chances to kill the game in the closing exchanges but were let down by poor finishing. City even had a penalty appeal waved away by the referee in the 92nd minute of the game for a handball by Nacho Monreal.

The ongoing unrest at Arsenal was visible as Arsenal fans exchanged blows during the game in the stands. That was not all, after the game fans were seen brawling outside of the stadium too.

Arsenal remain at 6th while City are stuck at 4th ahead of the midweek games. Twitter, as you would expect, trolled the Gunners. Here are the best tweets:
