Cesc Fabregas got everyone at Stamford Bridge on their feet after he waved goodbye to all corners of the ground against Nottingham Forest, ahead of a reported move to AS Monaco.

After four and a half glorious years at the club, the midfielder has decided to reunite with former teammate Thierry Henry, who is currently facing an unlikely battle for survival in the Ligue 1.

Fabregas completed a whopping 500 appearances in the English game in Chelsea's 0-0 against Southampton. His career in England spans 12 and a half years, including eight at Arsenal.

With 50 goals and 111 assists in 350 appearances in the domestic league, Fabregas will go down in history as one of the finest players to have played in the Premier League. A product of the La Masia academy, the 31-year-old switched to Arsenal in his early days and despite criticism due to his small frame and physicality, worked his magic for Arsene Wenger's team.

Not to mention, he filled the big boots of the great Patrick Vieira at the Emirates. In the quest to win more trophies, the little Spaniard reverted to his old club Barcelona and won a host of trophies.

However, he found playing time hard to come by, which in turn led to the central midfielder's shock move to Stamford Bridge - something he had only claimed he would never do.

In the 2014-15 season, he played a massive part for Jose Mourinho's title-winning team and arguably registered the best assist in the PL against Burnley. To an extent, the World Cup winner ran out of favor when Conte arrived, but his professional nature earned him larger importance as time wore on.

All in all, he has lifted the Premier League crown twice, the FA Cup earlier this year and a League Cup in his very first season with the Blues.

With warm hugs to David Luiz, Eden Hazard and Maurizio Sarri, he departed the pitch, clearly indicating a possible exit. After the game, the man with a 'magic hat', as they reckon, broke down to tears and waved a final goodbye to the Chelsea crowd.
