The Blaugrana were made to fight for every inch in a breathless encounter in the magnificent bullfighting arena that is Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Vitolo gave the hosts an early lead as they out-pressed, out-muscled, and thoroughly outplayed Barcelona in the opening stages. A Leo Messi moment of magic drew Barca level late in the first half, and from there on the champions never looked back. A deceptively brilliant finish from Suarez, after more Messi Magic created space for him, gave the visitors a 2-1 lead that they never relinquished.
It was a breathless game that was played at breakneck pace and redefined the concept of end-to-end. Twitter, naturally, had some fine things to tweet as they witnessed (arguably) the match of a wonderful footballing weekend.
