Manchester United lost yet again in the Premier League as Watford won 3-1 at Vicarage Road on Sunday. The result was the Red Devils’ second loss in the league and third loss in a week after losing to Manchester City in the league and Feyenoord in the Europa League.
It was a torrid first half for Manchester United and the visitors didn’t have a single shot on target for Heurelho Gomes to save. At the other end, after spurning a couple of simple chances to score, it was Etienne Capoue who got on the scoresheet yet again in the Premier League for the Hornets.
It wasn’t until Mourinho made changes to the formation in the second half that United struck back. A well-placed cross from Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw Marcus Rashford bundle the ball home with half an hour to go.
But Walter Mazzarri introduced Juan Camilo Zuniga and he scored Watford’s second with his first touch of the game. With United looking to at least come away with a point, they shot themselves in the foot when Marouane Fellaini fouled Zuniga inside the box in stoppage time and Troy Deeney put it away to make it 3-1 and give Watford a famous win.
