Twitter goes berserk as Tottenham beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge

Alli was the hero!
Alli was the hero!

It is always an exhilarating affair when Chelsea play Tottenham and the match that we all looked forward to didn't disappoint at all. Tottenham had a 5 point advantage heading into the fixture and it was a match that Chelsea simply could not afford to lose, but that was not the case.

Alvaro Morata gave Chelsea the lead in the 30th minute as he headed past Hugo Lloris who badly mistimed an attempted punch to Victor Moses' cross. However, Christian Eriksen equalised in the 46th minute with a simply sensational strike from a long way out. The teams headed into the break level.

The second half continued in the similar end to end fashion with both teams wary of the implications of a defeat. Spurs took the lead as Dele Alli exquisitely put the ball into the back of the net in the 62nd minute as he was found by Eric Dier's delightful ball over the top.

He then doubled his tally four minutes later after a scramble in the box sending the away fans into delirium, Chelsea fought back, but in vain!

Spurs claim a historic win against their rivals as they beat Chelsea for the first time at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era to go 8 points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea.

Here's how Twitter reacted:
