Twitter goes berserk as Manchester United come back from behind to stun Chelsea

Excellent performance from the Red Devils

Old Trafford played host to Antonio Conte's Chelsea side for the Premier League's matchday 28 clash between the two English giants. With the race for the top 4 spots heating up, a lot was at stake.

Amid immense support for the home side, Chelsea reduced the Theatre Of Dreams to absolute silence as Willian opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. However, it wasn't long before the crowd found their voice again, when Romelu Lukaku brought the hosts level in the 39th minute with his first goal against a top-six side this season.

Jesse Lingard then completed the stunning turnaround with an excellent header in the 75th minute to hand the Red Devils all 3 invaluable points. Notably, the cross was excellently drafted in by none other than Lukaku.

The win allowed Manchester United to climb to 59 points, widening the gap between themselves and Chelsea by 6 points. Twitter was expectedly a battleground, with fans pouring in onto the social media platform to voice their opinion. On that note, here's a look at some of the best tweets we found:

First things first, here's a look at the goals:

An absolute bullet from Willian, eh? Even David de Gea was rendered helpless!

What an equalizer for Romelu Lukaku and Manchester United!

And that's how Jesse Lingard, assisted by Romelu Lukaku, helped Manchester United claw their way back.

Of course, Twitter displayed a wide range of emotions, with some hailing their respective sides, while others were generous in their criticism. Also, as usual, when we're talking about Twitter, the trolls can't be far behind either.

Romelu Lukaku was understandably the talk of the town, with the big Belgian finding himself on the receiving end of praise and criticism, alike.

Jesse Lingard was also extensively heaped with praise as the Englishman's goal proved to be the deciding factor on the night.

Manchester United visibly failed to contain their excitement as they thronged onto Twitter to encourage and laud their side.

Chelsea fans, on the other hand, were far from pleased with their side's performance.

Antonio Conte's substitutions were also questioned

A number of Chelsea players were also targeted and ripped apart

Other fans also made the most of the occasion as they decided to troll the defending Premier League champions.
