Twitter mercilessly trolls Arsenal after 2nd defeat to Manchester City in 5 days

Arsen
Arsenal just can't seem to get it right

Just days after losing the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City, the Gunners hosted Manchester City for their Matchday 28 clash in the Premier League, and while the name of the competition may have changed, the end result was identical.

Arsenal's season went from bad to worse as the Citizens ran riot yet again. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring 15 minutes into the game with an outstanding curler to beat a bamboozled Petr Cech, before David Silva doubled the lead in the 28th minute.

Leroy Sane then struck home in the 33rd minute to put the third and final nail in Arsenal's coffin, as the game refused to yield any favour for the Gunners. While the tension at the Emirates was as palpable as ever, Twitter fell apart and cruelly trolled Arsene Wenger's side, while also hailing league leaders, Manchester City, for their commanding display.

Here's a look at some of the best tweets:

Here is Bernardo Silva's opener

David Silva found himself in the right place at the right time to make it 2-0

Before Leroy Sane scored yet another goal to seal the deal.

Simply unstoppable, eh?

Naturally, Arsenal fans were far from pleased and were more than generous with their expletives and insults towards Arsene Wenger and co. In general, though, fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions, and here's the cream of what we came across:

The players were torn apart for yet another insipid performance

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also a butt of a number of jokes and the centre of criticism after missing a penalty early in the second half of the game.

Of course, Arsene Wenger wasn't possibly going to be spared

Are the #WengerOut chants here to stay?

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, on the other hand, were adequately hailed for well, putting in another characteristically dominant performance.
