It was a second consecutive loss in the Premier League for Chelsea as they were beaten 4-0 by Bournemouth at Dean Court in their Premier League fixture. The Blues' latest signing, Gonzalo Higuain also made his Premier League debut in the game but he failed to make an impact before being taken off by Maurizio Sarri in the second half.

Bournemouth were the better side right from the start and got the lead when Joshua King guided the ball past Kepa Arrizabalaga with a superb finish in the 47th minute of the game. David Brooks increased the Cherries' advantage to two goals after scoring his fifth league goal in the 63rd minute of the game.

Joshua King found the net again in the 73rd minute before Charlie Daniels made things worse for the Blues, by scoring his team's fourth goal just minutes before the full-time whistle.

Maurizio Sarri's team enjoyed 69% of the possession during the game, but they failed to make the most of it. Chelsea had 11 shots on goal compared to Bournemouth's 12.

Chelsea are currently fifth on the Premier League table, 14 points behind the leaders Liverpool. Their primary objective this term is to finish in the Champions League qualification places, but they are facing tough competition from Manchester United and Arsenal.

They will host Huddersfield Town at Stamford Bridge in the league next before making a difficult trip to Manchester to play the defending champions, Manchester City.

On the other hand, Bournemouth are currently tenth in the Premier League table, 14 points clear of the relegation places. They will play Cardiff City in the league next before making a trip to the Merseyside to play Liverpool.
