Chelsea fell to a shock defeat at the Stamford Bridge to Leicester City and the result left Maurizio Sarri saying that it was impossible to catch up with Manchester City and Liverpool. The Blues have recorded some pretty strong victories in the season prior to losing a couple of matches in a weird fashion. Two weeks ago, the Blues managed to outclass Manchester City while playing at home. However, just before that game, Sarri's men had lost 2-1 to Wolves while they played away from home. These inconsistent performances have restricted Chelsea's potential this season to be even higher up the table rankings. Currently, they sit in Champions League qualification spots but are level on points with Arsenal, who are in fifth due to an inferior goal difference.League leaders Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League and 11 points separate the Reds and the Blues. Halfway through the season, it is far too early to say who will be the league leaders. However, Liverpool's unbeaten streak is taking them very far and they could continue it all the way until the end of the season. Chelsea will indeed find it hard to break into the top two, but catching up with Tottenham, who are in third, is still highly possible. The loss got Antonio Rudiger so upset that he called his team-mates "stupid" and admitted that the title race was somewhat over. To challenge for the title, Chelsea ought to not drop points in these fixtures against mid-tier level clubs. They will face Watford and Crystal Palace before the end of the year. Both clubs have had their surprising victories and losses. Roy Hodgson's men could deliver another impacting blow to Chelsea's top four chances after his side stunned Manchester City by recording a 2-3 victory in favour of the Eagles.City lost. Chelsea lost.
