Liverpool thrashed their opponents 5-0

It was an easy midweek for Jurgen Klopp's side as Liverpool defeated Watford with a destructive scoreline of 5-0 at Anfield.

Liverpool was lined-up in their regular 4-3-3 formation where James Milner started as a midfielder. Trent Alexander-Arnold was placed as the right-back while Divock Origi started the match, in place of injured Roberto Firmino, in the starting line-up against Watford. Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah started as well to support the young Liverpool forward.

Sadio Mane opened the scoreline for Liverpool in the 10th-minute of the match when Alexander-Arnold's cross found Mane. That header from the forward broke the deadlock for the Reds. Soon, Mane doubled the lead for his side and Alexander-Arnold laid his 2nd assist of the night. This time, Mane's right footed shot from the box found the nets.

In the second half, Liverpool continued their dominating display in terms of ball possession. Robertson's pass found Origi who made no mistake in turning it into the net at the 66th minute. The game was not over for Klopp's side. Virgil Van-Dijk continued adding more goals to the scoresheet. It certainly meant that all hopes were lost for Watford. Things got from bad to worse when van Dijk scored a brace to make it 5-0.

With this win, Liverpool still remains at the top of the Premier League points table. They have now 69 Premier League points from 28 game-weeks. In this match, Watford defenders were more concerned about Salah as the Senegalese winger and the fullbacks took the full advantage of their sloppy defending.

All the assists were provided by the fullbacks which can be a brilliant thing from the Red's perspective. They not only scored goals but also kept clean-sheets. The job is not done yet for Jurgen Klopp as there is only one point difference between Liverpool and 2nd placed Manchester City. Here is a look at how fans reacted as Liverpool continued to their domination in the EPL race.
