Marcus Rashford has been a part of the Manchester United setup for almost 15 years having joined the side's academy way back in 2005 aged just eight and went on to make his debut for the senior side in record-breaking style in 2015 under the management of Louis Van Gaal.

Having hit a brick wall in negotiations for a contract extension in the last few months, Manchester United have announced that they have agreed terms with Rashford on a four year extension worth a whopping £250,000 per week.

Rashford is coming off the most productive season of his career till date, having scored 14 goals from 47 matches in all competitions and his contract extension would come as a welcome relief to everyone associated with the Red Devils.

The 21-year-old forward had been on a 45,000-a-week deal which was set to expire in 2020 and as such, the club were eager to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

The England international has scored 45 goals from 170 matches in all competitions for the Red Devils and is set to become the joint-third highest earner at Manchester United behind Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez and on par with Anthony Martial.

As expected, Twitter users were quick to express their opinions on the micro-blogging site with some expressing disappointment and considering it a waste of money while others were genuinely pleased as Rashford is the only Ge they have if Pogba leaves this summer.
