Twitter reacts to a banana being thrown in during the Manchester Derby

The much-awaited Manchester Derby came with its own bit of spiciness, to say the least. City needed a win to seal their title and two first-half goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan put them well on their road to a famous win.

England internationals Ashley Young and Raheem Sterling enjoyed a couple of coming together in the same flank and there were some fireworks down that flank. The former didn't have the best of outings in the first half and was the subject of some strong criticism.

But for no apparent reason, a banana made its appearance in the feisty affair after aggravated City fans were angry following a tussle between Young and Sterling.

Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young are no where near Man United level. They have a good defensive record because De Gea continually saves them week in week out.
