AS Roma complete the Italian Job on Barcelona and Twitter reacts

AS Roma v FC Barcelona - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg
Manolas celebrates scoring the winning goal

AS Roma staged one of the greatest European comebacks as they beat Barcelona 3-0 to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League on away goals.

The home side got off to the ideal start when Edin Dzeko beat Marc-Andre Ter Stegen one on one to give Roma the lead in the sixth minute.

Eusebio Di Francesco's tactics were spot on as his team's high pressing was proving dividends against the Catalans. The Barca players were struggling and were being outplayed by the Italians.

A 58th-minute penalty was converted by Daniele De Rossi to make it 2-0 and give Roma hope.

The comeback was complete when Kostas Manolas headed in at the near post to equalise in the 82nd minute with the scoreline being level at 4-4 on aggregate.

The Romans held on for the final few minutes and pulled one of the biggest upsets to progress to the final four.

The second leg performance was very poor and strange from Barcelona, as they let the home team dominate and get a grip on the tie from the first whistle.

Going forward they were below average as they registered only three shots on target along with a pass completion rate of just 76% and were dispossessed 12 times.
