Kept the Blue Flag Flying at about half mast

It wasn’t a long time ago when Chelsea fans were absolutely elated with their Premier League glory. After an atrocious 2015-16 season, they were back on top of the Premier League after toppling Spurs for the title.

With Champions League football and the prestige of being the champions of England, a summer of excitement awaited the Blues fans – or so they thought. The fans were livid, obviously, and their Tweets are a perfect depiction of how the Deadline Day summed up their transfer window after they failed to get deals done for Ross Barkley and Riyad Mahrez while signing a rather obscure right-back from Torino whose name is an amalgam of Zapata and Costa.
