Matchday 26 early kickoff saw 7th placed Burnley take on Manchester City at home. The first 15 minutes of the game proved to be very physical with Vincent Kompany making reckless challenges on the Burnley players. He committed four fouls in the first quarter of the game but surprisingly wasn't booked for any of the challenges by the referee, Martin Atkinson. The first goal of the game was scored by Danilo in the 22nd minute, launching a right footed shot from outside the box. This was City's 10th goal from outside the box in the Premier League, 6th different goal scored by a City player. Despite that wonder goal, Burnley stayed alive in the game. A much better 2nd half for Burnley eventually paid off as a cross from Matt Lowton from the right flank in the box saw Johann Berg Gudmundsson put in a left footed shot to earn an equalizer for Burnley and a well-deserved point. Here' show twitter reacted:Spent over £300 million, and City only name 6 subs?? What is the point in that? Why not stick an academy product on the bench for the experience and a few minutes if the games going well? Pointless Pep😂 #MCFC #BURMCI— Molly Shepherd-Boden (@MollyShep) February 3, 2018Guardiola is turning into a parody of himself. Going down mourinho route. Can only name 6 subs after not getting mahrez. Whatever happened to promoting youth . #BURMCI— the realist (@howay51) February 3, 2018Gary Neville bang on. 6 subs on the bench is just pure arrogance from Guardiola. Typical of him. And i thought Guardiola was supposed to be some kind of God at bringing youth through? #MCFC #BURMCI— Scott (@GhostOfScottLaw) February 3, 2018#BURMCI can gary neville please shut up let pep do what he wants you had your chance as a manager and failed miserably. Besides that and Kompany colliding with half of the Burnley side, not much to report.— City Watch (@City_Watch) February 3, 2018Wasn't long ago Vincent Kompany was deemed one of the best central defenders in Europe. Now he is seen as the weak link in this Man City defence, a sad demise #BURMCI #MCFC— Post2Post Football (@Post2PostFooty) February 3, 2018#BURMCI OMG Stirling.
