While Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City defeated their Premier League counterparts Bournemouth, West Ham and Leicester City respectively, English Championship side Bristol City shocked everyone by knocking the Carabao Cup champions Manchester United out of the cup on Wednesday.Bristol player Joe Bryan gave his side the lead against the Red Devils in the 51st minute of the game. However, the goal was nullified by none other than Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who made his first start of the season after returning from injury, just seven minutes later. It looked like the game would end in a 1-1 draw and go into extra time, but Bristol's Korey Smith had other ideas. The 26-year-old surprised everyone by scoring a 93rd-minute winner for the Robins.Bristol will now be facing the Red Devils' derby rivals Manchester City in the semi-finals of the tournament.Twitter took the opportunity to mercilessly troll Manchester United and here are some of the reactions to the match:Former Liverpool FC player Lucas Leiva stole the show on Twitter after the game...Get in Bristol City ??? unluckyyyyyy— Lucas Leiva (@LucasLeiva87) December 20, 2017This one never gets old...Do u wanna hear a joke ?Manchester United.— Troll Football (@TrollFootball) December 20, 2017Looks like even ex-Manchester United player Patrice Evra is laughing at the club :PManchester United lose to Bristol City.#bristolcity #BRIMUN #mufc pic.twitter.com/CxUPT9O5hQ— YNFA (@ynfafootball) December 20, 2017Nothing can get worse than losing to 2nd tier club after spending so much...If you're having a bad day just remember Jose Mourinho's Manchester United lost to Bristol City after spending £500M.— Danny Welbeck (@WelBeast) December 20, 2017The Paul Pogba factor didn't work out against Bristol...Manchester United fans: "We could have beaten Man City if Paul Pogba was available"Couldn't even beat Bristol City with Paul Pogba ?— Aadam (@aadambirmingham) December 20, 2017At least Man Utd fans have something to cheer about...Breaking Manchester united collect the we got to the quarter final and Liverpool didn't trophy.
