Berlin, April 22 (IANS): Bayern Munich stomped into the last-four as they turned around a 3-1 first-leg loss by outclassing Porto 6-1 on home soil, at the second-leg of the Champions League's quarter-finals on Tuesday, a media report said on Wednesday.
Despite suffering a 3-1 first leg loss to Porto, Bayern kept their nerves by crushing Porto 6-1 on home soil. The German giants sealed the deal with five first-half goals to flabbergast the visitors from Portugal, who were only able to score their consolation in the closing period, Xinhua reported.
The hosts caught a fairy tale start into the game as Robert Lewandowski rattled the right post with just ten minutes into the game before Juan Bernat crossed into the box to Thiago Alcantara, who headed home at the near post, breaking the deadlock just four minutes later.
