Demba Ba is currently playing football in Turkey with Besiktas. He has scored 19 goals and given 2 assists for the Turkish team in all competitions this season. However, his 19th goal for the club wasn’t scored by his feet or head or even his chest! It came off his backside when he was lying on the ground.
In a Turkish Super Lig match against Mersin, Ba was played through on goal. The former Chelsea player took a shot with his right foot, but the goalkeeper saved it with his foot. However, the ball ended in the back of the net despite the striker and the goalkeeper lying on the ground, while a defender was standing between the two.
Unluckily for the goalkeeper, after his save, the ball headed straight to Ba and hit the Senegalese on his backside. The ball then looped over the goalkeeper, who was still on the ground, and went straight into the goal.
The fortunate goal turned out to be the winner as Besiktas won the match 2-1. Ba, it seemed, wasn’t too pleased either as he was seen was shaking his head.
Now that is one goal, even Ba won’t be able to claim that he hit intentionally.
