Video: Fernandinho picks between Messi, Ronaldo and speaks about his pre-match rituals

Manchester City player Fernandinho sat down with Manchester City behind the scenes to answer some questions that were posted to him on social media in a video uploaded by Manchester City’s official YouTube account. The queries ranged from simple to absolutely bizarre, and the Brazilian’s replies were often funny.

In a connected world such as ours, players are regularly the subject of media attention, sometimes they use the medium to get in touch with their fans around the world truly living up to the billing of football being a global sport. On this occasion, it was Fernandinho’s turn to answer some questions.

A number of queries addressed the players’ routine and his ability to keep running during the game. Some even questioned him about his preferences with movies and music. But one user chose to go with the cliche questions – Messi or Ronaldo? Hazard or Neymar? Robben or Bale? Lewandowski or Suarez? Thiago Silva or Sergio Ramos? The Brazilian answers these in quickfire fashion and moves on to others, making some seemingly surprising choices along the way.

Other questions directed at the City player were “Who’s the funniest player at Manchester City?” or “Who’s the dirtiest player?” to which Fernandinho had an interestingly quick answer.

The most bizarre though was the question he was asked about his feelings about hedgehogs. A Twitter user asked him if he liked hedgehogs, and the host had to look up the anmal and show the player a picture for him to realise what they were talking about. A bit bizarre that one.

The Sky Blue must be extremely pleased with his side’s performances and will look forward to the rest of the season after their blistering start. All the new signings seem to have clicked and the old boys are finding heir feet as well, it might just be their time again.
