Diego Forlan marked his 100th cap with a brilliant strike in the second-half as Uruguay defeated Nigeria 2-1. Diego Lugano had put Nigeria ahead in the 19th minute with an effort in the close range but John Obi Mikel equalised for Nigeria in the 37th minute. The result ended Nigeria’s 18-match unbeaten run and Diego Forlan had not scored for previous 12 games.
