Best goal of the week? Pablo Hernandez's goal against Atletico Madrid is just crazy

Celta Vigo’s Pablo Hernandez scored from a ridiculous back-heel attempt.

Pablo Hernandez’s goal against Atletico Madrid this Saturday night will remind of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s last season back-heal wonder strike against Bastia, and will surely be one of the nominees for the Goal of the season award at the end of the season.

Taking the lead for his team in the 19th minute, Hernandez scored from a brilliant back-heel goal despite being heavily marked by a defender while not even looking at the ball.

Following the match, when asked about the goal, the Celta Vigo striker said, “I tried to pull off the defender, but it didn’t happen, and as a last resort I attempted the flick. I just managed to make a connection and fortunately, it found its way into the goal. I wasn’t sure if I could redirect it towards goal, but I just tried to make sure I got something on the ball.”

The match ended in a 2-2 draw, but Celta will be happy to take away a point from the Vicente Calderón Stadium when most of the odds were against them.
