There was some drama during Bayern Munich’s training session on Wednesday, when striker Robert Lewandowski and defender Jerome Boateng had a bust up and had to be separated by their team-mates. The two allegedly got involved in an altercation during a training session.
Coach Pep Guardiola eventually asked the two players to discontinue the training session. It was the team’s first training session since the Bundesliga champions had lost 2-1 to Freiburg.
Apparently, Boateng was unhappy with Lewandowski’s challenge on him and confronted the striker about it. Tempers flared when Lewandowski refused to back off. The two had to be separated by their teammates. Captain Philipp Lahm, Rafinha and Mehdi Benatia were the ones who intervened to separate the pair.
Bayern have one league game remaining in the season against Mainz. The German champions will be looking to finish the season strongly after suffering five losses in their last six matches.
