Wayne Rooney celebrates England's win over Scotland by crashing a wedding party

According to an eyewitness present at the wedding, Rooney was drinking over the limit

Manchester United and England football team striker, Wayne Rooney reportedly crashed a wedding on Friday night after England beat Scotland 3-0 in a World Cup qualifying match at the Wembley Stadium.

According to The Sun, the 31-year-old England international joined the party late into Friday night and indulged himself in drinking with many people present at the party and reportedly also had a bit of a chat with the bride as well. Rooney apparently was seen wearing an England shirt while he was he enjoying a few rounds of alcohol.

The wedding which took place at Grove Hotel in Watford also saw the presence of Everton’s Phil Jagielka and Manchester City’s John Stones and Raheem Sterling. According to an eyewitness present at the wedding, Rooney was drinking over the limit and looked like he had way too many drinks.

“I can only conclude that he was celebrating the win against Scotland. He was really s**t-faced.” told the witness to The Sun

The witness also went on to mention that Rooney was asked to join the party and asked if he could take a couple of pictures with the bride and the guests.

“His speech was slurred, his lips were red with wine and his eyes were red.” told the witness.

“At midnight he was asked if he would come and say hello to guests at a private wedding party. He posed for photos, chatted with the bride and had plenty more to drink.”

The guests didn’t seem to mind the famous English footballer celebrating England’s win over Scotland by crashing the wedding as they indulged in a drinking session late into the night.

Rooney was named the captain for the game that was held between England and Scotland on Friday. England were very impressive on that night as Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Gary Cahill got on the score sheet for England.

A spokesman for the FA told The Sun that the players of the England team were given a couple of days off on the weekend and were asked to report back on Sunday giving the players a little time to enjoy the weekend.

England’s intern manager, Gareth Southgate has confirmed to the media that Wayne Rooney will not be in England’s starting XI for the game against Spain on Tuesday night.

Rooney has reportedly suffered a minor injury and missed the training session on Monday. In the absence of Wayne Rooney, Liverpool FC player, Jordan Henderson will take his place as the Captain of the England team.
