Wayne Rooney's old tweets will make your day.. and also your night

Wayne Rooney Tweets

Wayne Rooney has been making a lot of news over the past one week after he broke the legendary Sir Bobby Charlton’s 45-year record in his 107th international game with a penalty in the 84th minute, helping his side to a convincing 2-0 win while he became England's all-time highest goalscorer.

While the debate continues if he is England's greatest ever player, it is without a doubt that he is one of their greatest players of all time. Having played out wide, as an attacking midfielder and even as a deeper-lying midfielder whenever required, it is highly likely that his record with England will never be beaten.

Here's what Rooney had tweeted after his achievement

Now if you have been following Wayne Rooney on Twitter for a while, you would know that this is definitely not the Rooney on Twitter we remember. Perhaps he had hired a PR agent to handle his social media channels, and it seems to have worked out well for the Manchester United striker.

But, we do miss the old Wazza who wouldn't hesitate to even reply to trolls. Here are some great examples:

His first tweet is definitely his best.

That one time when he got into an argument with himself.

That one time when he found Mr. Bean funny.

A loyal Liverpool hater.

Something about his hair-transplant, but he was never shy.

Piers Morgan is an egg.

When Tom Cleverley was referred to as England's future.

Say what?

Sick reference, bro.

Re-defining Twitter conversation with Gary Lineker.

“I wanna run to u"

Well, the reaction from fans for the above tweet made Wazza angry.

After Robin van Persie had signed for Manchester United.

Some more banter with buddy Piers Morgan.

Rooney doesn't like violent Pepe.

Rooney likes One Direction.

Please get up, Didier!
