Ander Herrera feels Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already become a leader at Manchester United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already had a big impact at Manchester United. After just a month at his new club, he is seen among his teammates as a leader in the dressing room. The Swedish forward scored an incredible goal against Galatasaray on his debut for the Red Devils during their pre-season tour in the United States. Just four minutes into the game he beat the opposition goalkeeper with a stunning scissor kick.

United’s midfielder Ander Herrera speaking about the talismanic number nine, said, "The start by Ibra was fantastic, but I wasn't really surprised he scored such a wonderful goal because I have watched him for a long time.

“We are going to follow Ibra because we have one of the best players in the world and we have a big leader in our dressing room with him.

"And with the experience of Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick, and Ashley Young as well we are very optimistic about the future.

Herrera also believes that the entire squad can benefit by learning from the experienced Swedish legend.

"Ibra and Rashford are quite different in terms of qualities, but Marcus can learn a lot from him. And not just Marcus. We are all going to learn from Ibra. It is a unique opportunity for me to learn from a legend like him and I hope to take advantage of that.”

Manchester United had a tough time scoring goals under their previous manager Louis Van Gaal, but the Spanish midfielder feels that his team are now much better equipped to beat the opposing defenders, with multiple attacking options available to their new manager Jose Mourinho.

“Hopefully, we can score a lot of goals next season because that's what we want to do. I think the strikers can be a very good mix and combination because they all have different qualities. Ibra is more of a target man while Rashford can find the spaces because he is so quick and fast. So I think it is good for the manager to have those different options," quipped the Spaniard who himself is looking to seal a regular place in the Manchester United starting eleven.

Mourinho was appointed by the Manchester United board as the new manager in an effort to turn around their recent misfortune. Since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, United have failed to perform at the expected levels under both David Moyes as well as his replacement, Louis Van Gaal.
