What does the Brazil football team lack?

The Samba Kings, conquerors of 5 FIFA World Cups are in no delight or satisfaction after their FIFA rankings dropped below 10 for the first time in Brazilian football history. They are currently ranked No.12 and the excitement and flair fans used to have for the Selecao is going down at a tremendous rate.

There was great passion for football during the era of Ronado, Adriano, Kaka and Ronaldinho unlike the situation of Brazilian football these days. It has been a disappointing run from them since 2011. They lost the Copa America and Olympics football under Menezes. Right now, the Brazilian team is filled with youngsters with very less experience.

After the departure of Dunga, Brazilian football is at its worst scene with no senior players in the squad. Only Thiago Silva and Hulk can be called as players familiar with the ball.

Mano Menezes - The best or not?

As far as goalkeepers are concerned, Julio Cesar put up a bad show during Copa America 2011 as well as in Brazil’s friendly matches. The coach is giving chances to a lot of goalkeepers to choose who is the best one among all. My suggestion to the coach would be to take Jefferson and Rafael Cabral. This would strengthen Brazil in the goalkeeping strategy.

Coming to the defence, Brazil has a lot of talented players, but as far as Brazil’s formation of 4-3-3 is concerned the 4 best defenders with exceptional qualities must be selected. Of course, Daniel Alves and Thiago Silva are the hub of the Selecao defence, left back position to Real Madrid star Marcelo and central defence role to pair up with Silva should be given to Chelsea UCL winner David Luiz.

Oscar – The rising star.

The midfield zone, which is the most important part of any football, where passes must be delivered to the attackers; must be well planned. The 3 midfielders should be quick and must have proper coordination with the others. Indeed, they must make the game flow like a river. They can enjoy making clever skillful passes with Ramires, Ronaldinho and Oscar on the pitch. Adding Kaka to the team would also do the trick.

The amazing 3 upfront on the pitch currently are Hulk, Neymar and Damiao. But Damiao, who is only familiar playing in the Brazilian League, can be replaced with Pato, Robinho or World Cup 2010 forward Luis Fabiano. Although Pato is prone to injuries often, he can be a possible starter. The coach can take turns in giving chances to all of the forwards. Fabiano is a solid player with great finishing power.

EURO Cup 2012 winners Spain, followed by Germany and England are right now seen as the favorites for the 2014 WC by football critics, fans and pundits. But 5 time champions Brazil can definitely bounce back on FIFA rankings as well be the favorites if they can come up with the correct selection of players.
