Who said what: The world reacts to last night's Premier League results

Liverpool demolished City last night

The Premier League threw up several unexpected results yesterday after Arsenal Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all lost. United and Liverpool on the other hand registered wins

Jurgen Klopp had a unique reaction to Liverpool's win with a very instinctive response

“The best word I can say to describe this is BOOM We showed we are not disappointed as it could have had a negative influence on the performance tonight. The boys did brilliant. They were very angry in a positive way.We have to stay angry, to strike back in each game. Take whatever you can get. That is the target in the league.”

Arsene Wenger feels his side were unlucky in the defeat against Swansea as their title hopes suffered another blow

“I think it is a very unlucky defeat It's a very disappointing game, and the players are very down. But we have to respond to that. So at the moment we don't dream. We have to be realistic and come back to what we do well, and do the basics”

On Petr’s Cech's injury, he said,

“Cech got a muscular problem at the end of the game. He will not play on Saturday. I have full faith in Ospina”

Paul Scholes slammed arsenal’s performance raising concerns on their mental toughness on BT Sport

“Arsenal, you know this season I think I was a little bit conned by Arsenal.”

“I thought this year they'd added a bit of steel with Cech and Ozil was coming into his own and I had a slight feeling that they might go on to win it but once again they haven't disappointed.”

“They always seem to when it comes down to the crunch”

Louis Van Gaal was very pleased with his side’s performance and praised his players on the official website of Manchester united

“We are fighting. In the fight, we can play fantastic matches against Arsenal, and I believe against Midtjylland we also played very well.I am very happy for the players because they have fought until the end, and they knew out on the pitch that our competitors were losing.”

On Fosu-Mensah’s performance he said:

“Timothy has saved us three times because of his speed so I am very pleased that he was on the pitch. He always closed the door for us So I was very pleased that he was on the pitch. He wanted to be changed early in the second half [because he picked up a knock] but I let him stay on because he always closed the door for us.”

"I think the youngsters have given us a lot of spirit and now, when you see the dressing room full of joy with all the players laughing, it’s beautiful to see”

Ander Hererra spoke about how his team battled for a tough win on MUTV

“We didn't play so good, but we have to learn to win these games. There was a lot of wind in the stadium and the pitch was dry. We couldn't move the ball, that is our style,”

Juan Mata was named as captain against watford and was proud of his achievement. He also spoke to MUTV saying,

“I'm very proud and very honoured to wear [the captain's armband]. It was the perfect day for me - winning, scoring and three massive points, It was very, very important to win today. It was not the prettiest performance we have made this season, but we needed the points especially because our rivals dropped points”

Mauricio Pochettino admitted that Spurs were poor but denied they were worried about the title.

“No, no, no, no [not nerves] We made some mistakes that, normally, we don’t make. It was difficult and we were poor. We conceded the goal and it was very difficult. West Ham played better than us. We played better in the second half and might have deserved an equaliser but if you don’t score it’s difficult to come away with a point.”

Manuel Pellegrini's men lost to Liverpool after they beat them in the League cup final just a few dyas back

“We didn’t deserve to be 2-0 down at half time. From the beginning we were not fresh. Liverpool had more energy. They recovered the ball at high pace. They could make more changes. We didn’t have any midfielders to change without Yaya Toure.

We had just defenders or one striker to make the change. But (these results) means the Premier League continues exactly the same all season. Not one team makes the difference.”.
