Wolfsburg confident of De Bruyne transfer

Sunderland v Chelsea - Capital One Cup Quarter-Final

Kevin de Bruyne

German side Wolfsburg are confident of reaching an agreement with English giants Chelsea about the January loan move for their out of favour playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

The Belgian midfielder spent the 2012-13 season on loan at the Bundesliga side Werder Bremen where he scored 10 goals in total 33 appearances – but has managed only three appearances under the ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho this season.

The 22 year old playmaker was forced to train with the youth squad of Chelsea after being criticized by Mourinho about his effort and the Chelsea manager has confirmed that bids have been made about the young Belgian.

It seems that German club Wolfsburg are in pole position for De Bruyne’s signature and general manager Klaus Allofs has expressed that they are really close to reaching an agreement.

He told Wolfsburger Nachrichten: “It’s not that we can confirm the deal just yet, but we are no longer so far apart with Chelsea that we can’t bridge the differences.”

Wolfsburg are currently placed fifth in the German Bundesliga, two points behind fourth placed Borussia Dortmund.
