Luis Gustavo of Brazil controls the ball during the opening match of the 2014 World Cup between Brazil and Croatia at Arena de Sao Paulo on June 12, 2014 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

According to the Express, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea target Luis Gustavo is valued at £26 million by Wolfsburg.

The 24-year-old enforcer joined Wolfsburg last summer, bringing an end to his three-year stint at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian native has continued to impress at his new club, drawing the attention of a long list of European suitors, including the Premier League trio, Barcelona and Inter Milan.

Previously it was reported that discussions were taking place between Inter and Wolfsburg over a £20 million deal for Gustavo. In the end, they elected to pursue Yann M’Villa instead.

Reports in Italy suggest Inter’s change in heart was a result of Wolfsburg standing firm on Gustavo’s £26 million release clause.

Gustavo is currently at the World Cup with the Brazil squad but might entertain a move away from the Volkswagen Arena when the quadrennial tournament reaches its conclusionif his quotes from the end of last year are anything to go by.

“It’s always good to have your name linked to Barcelona,” he said.

“I have a long contract which includes a buyout fee, and if anyone wants to pay that, they can sign me.”
