Brazil have announced their 23-man World Cup squad and it's filled with world-class players. Alisson, Cássio, Ederson; Danilo, Geromel, Filipe Luís, Marcelo, Marquinhos, Miranda, Fagner, Thiago Silva; Casemiro, Fernandinho, Fred, Paulinho, Coutinho, Renato Augusto, Willian; D.Costa, Firmino, Jesus, Neymar and Taison have made it.

Tite had a tough time picking his squad and it is evident because he left out some of the best talents despite them being in tremendous form or possessing a huge fan following. Here are 5 players who are unlucky to have missed out:

#5 Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro has not been at the same level as he was during the 2016/17 season but the left-back was still one of the best across Europe. He’s just unlucky that Marcelo and Filipe Luis were better than him.

The fullback has made just 100 appearances for his country ever since his debut in 2011! He was given hope by Tite when he picked him for the friendlies vs Russia and Germany but that was mainly because Luis was injured.

#4 David Luiz

David Luiz is probably the most passionate Brazilian footballers right now. When he dons the jersey he gives more than 100% every single time.

However, his fall out with Antonio Conte and an untimely injury has kept him out of the World Cup squad. He is back in training but isn’t fully fit and has not made Chelsea’s matchday squad for a long time.

This might have been his last opportunity of playing in a World Cup and it is unfortunate that he cannot make it. Geromel has made the squad as his alternative and he'll be happy as it might be his last World Cup too.

#3 Fabinho

Fabinho is probably the most surprising name to be left out by Tite. The right-back was the favourite to replace Dani Alves in Brazil’s starting XI but now is not even in the squad!

The AS Monaco star has had a brilliant season and certainly deserved to be on the plane to Russia this summer. He can also play as a midfielder and that would've been an added bonus to the squad.

Fagner and Danilo have been picked ahead of him and that hasn't gone down too well with the Brazil fans. Fagner is still recovering from a right thigh injury while Danilo has not played a lot this season.

#2 Talisca

Anderson Souza Conceição aka Talisca has been one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe this season. The Brazilian has scored 19 goals and assisted 5 more for Besiktas this season.

Tite has gone with Philippe Coutinho, Willian, Taison and Douglas Costa as his attacking options. While 3 of the 4 are untouchable, Talisca can argue that he is a better player than Taison.

The 24-year-old Besiktas man would now most probably look for a move away as he knows that he needs to be playing in one of the top 5 leagues to get Tite's attention henceforth.

#1 Felipe Anderson

The most unlucky Brazilian right now has to be Felipe Anderson. The Lazio man has been in stunning form this season but it just so happens that Renato Augusto and Paulinho were also just as good.

The 25-year-old could have made it to the team as a winger too but there is no way Tite was picking him ahead of Willian and Douglas Costa. He has played 2 games as a striker too but quite honestly, he's nowhere as good as Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus.
