Ibrahimovic and Mourinho have been criticised by Dugarry

After Jose Mourinho’s dream start to life as Manchester United boss, winning his first three games in charge in the Premier League, he was brought down to reality, losing his next three games.

United lost two in the League either side of one in the Europa league - to rivals Manchester City, Walter Mazzari’s Watford, and Dutch side Feyenoord respectively.

The criticism of his side came pouring in from all angles, with former French striker Christophe Dugarry, one of those who did not hold back on his words.

Dugarry won the World Cup with France in 1998, and represented the Les Bleus 55 times, scoring eight goals. Dugarry also played for a number of clubs in Europe such as Bordeaux, Milan, FC Barcelona, and Marseille.

He now hosts a radio show in his native France, and he did not hold back in his criticism of Manchester United, more specifically manager Jose Mourinho, and summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic is a cone, Mourinho tactically inept

Dugarry first bizarrely likened Ibrahimovic to training ground equipment and said, “Ibrahimovic is a cone. People talk about his stats, but he’s a cone. You look at his matches, and it’s not possible to do that. It’s English football. It goes at 2,000 kilometers an hour.”

He continued his tirade against the Manchester-based club, indicating his disapproval of coach Jose Mourinho, questioning his success during the last half a dozen years and said, “I get the feeling that Mourinho’s last tactical success was for Inter Milan against Barcelona,” referring to Inter’s heroic victory over two legs – the majority of the second leg played with ten men – in the semi-final of the Champions League in 2010.

“He’s won titles since, but I think he’s lost the plot. He believes he has become more important than the team. Tactically, I think he does not put anything in place. Apart from the players, who have changed, it’s the same organisation as last season, under Louis Van Gaal.”

“He always blames the referee or their opponents’ good fortune. There is no self-criticism.”

Manchester United fans will hope that Dugarry is wrong about the Old Trafford club’s manager and star forward, who they signed amidst much fanfare in the recent transfer window.

The stats at least backup Ibrahimovic’s start to the Premier League with four goals already this season.
