Xavi on the brink of signing for Qatar side Al Sadd

Barcelona’ midfield maestro, Xavi Hernandez, is going to announce that he is signing for Qatari side Al Sadd, according to his agent, Ivan Corretja. It is rumoured to be a three year contract. Xavi has been at Barcelona since he was 11, coming through the ranks of the La Masia academy. Since those early days Xavi has accumulated over 700 caps for the Catalan club scoring 84 goals.

He will play his final league game against Deportivo La Coruna as a Spanish champion on Saturday. He will have a couple of more games after that namely the Copa del Rey final and the Champions League final.

Xavi to become an ambassador for Qatar’s 2022 World Cup

According to his agent, Xavi will also become an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup which will be hosted by the Gulf nation.

Xavi has a huge list of honours already to his name which include three Champions League medals, eight La Liga titles, a World Cup and a European Championship to name a few. He represented his country 133 times which is a record for an outfield player in Spain.
