Yaya Toure's agent rubbishes claims of problems between his client and Pep Guardiola

Toure and Guardiola had previously worked together in Barcelona but did not share a good working relationship

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has denied the claims that there are differences between his client and manager Pep Guardiola. He also revealed Toure is staying with the Manchester giants until the end of this season

“Problems between Yaya and Pep? No, absolutely not. I can deny those claims,” Seluk told Tuttomercatoweb in an exclusive interview. “Yaya will stay at Manchester City. He has a valid contract until the end of the season. After that, we'll see what the best solution is for his future."

Toure and Guardiola had previously worked together in Barcelona but did not share a good working relationship. The Ivorian was later sold to Manchester City in 2010 and has been with the Etihad stadium-based club since then.

Seluk has been a critic of Guardiola even before the Spaniard began his new job with the Manchester club. Earlier this season, the Ivorian midfielder’s agent had accused the former Barcelona manager of treating his players like “dogs”, resulting Guardiola hitting back at the agent saying he will not select Toure in the squad unless his agent apologizes to him.

The Croatian agent later revealed that he will not apologize for his comments.

Seluk was asked if the Italian Serie A could be a possible destination for the 33-year-old midfielder in the next year when he replied, “There are many teams that would like Yaya, not just in Italy.”

Earlier this season, Italian side Inter Milan had shown some interest in the signature of Yaya Toure but no deal was finalized at the end. Seluk revealed the deal broke down because of Toure’s huge price tag. “The issue was Manchester City, who demanded a lot of money to let him go.”

Guardiola has not selected Toure in Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League squad and also has not started him in any of the Premier Leagues match this season. “It was so difficult for me to leave him out of the Champions League. So difficult. I know him and I know he's a good guy,” said Guardiola in a Press Conference last month.

Yaya Toure has just started one match for Manchester City since the former Bayern Munich manager has arrived at the club. Toure has two Premier League medals, one FA Cup, two League Cups and a Community Shield to show from his Manchester City career.
