What's the story?

Arsenal midfielder and Barcelona loanee Denis Suarez has opened up about his time at Camp Nou and what it was like to play with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

The 25-year-old heaped praise on Blaugrana captain Messi, stating that while many players wanted to replicate the incredible things he does, no one is truly capable of doing them.

In case you didn't know...

After having signed a contract extension with Barcelona, Suarez made a loan move to Premier League outfit Arsenal this January in the hopes of getting regular game time.

The Spaniard struggled to get on the team sheet at Camp Nou, having featured only eight times for the Catalan giants this season.

However, during his stint with the Spanish champions, the midfielder was privileged enough to play with the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta.

The heart of the matter

Suarez had nothing but praise for Barcelona and its legends, stating that he did not have to think twice when the opportunity to play with them came about.

Speaking to Arsenal's official YouTube channel, he said, "I'm not going to deny it. I've always wanted to play for Barca."

"The opportunity came up to play for Barcelona, who were offering me the chance to spend one year with the youth side and then the next with the first team. I didn't have to think twice."

"I remember seeing Xavi, Iniesta and Messi, who were the biggest names for me. The first time I shared a pitch with them was a dream come true."

The Gunners midfielder went on to describe what it was like to play alongside one of the best players in the history of the game, stating that no matter how hard players try to replicate Messi's actions, they always come up short.

"I think you can watch Messi and aspire to do things that he does, but only he is capable of those things."

"Obviously you watch him and see his movement and the way he plays, which you want to emulate, but I don't think there is anyone else in the world that can do what he does."

What's next?

Barcelona are currently gearing up for their much-awaited Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Real Madrid later tonight.

Denis Suarez, on the other hand, will be looking to make a mark for his side when they take on Bournemouth in the Premier League.
