Zinedine Zidane has been named as The Best FIFA Manager of the Year for 2017. The Real Madrid coach was unanimously voted as the winner by the legends panel, national team coaches & captains, media and also the fans via votes.

The legends panel that chose Zidane as the winner included the likes of Cafú, Landon Donovan, Diego Maradona, Jay Jay Okocha, Carles Puyol and Edwin van der Sar.

In case you didn’t know...

Zidane managed to win the La Liga, FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Champions League. He is the only coach ever to win the European title in back-to-back seasons in the modern era.

Real Madrid's league triumph was their first in 5 years! Apart from this, they also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World cup. Los Blancos also had a stunning 512 days scoring streak under the Frenchman.

The heart of the matter

Zinedine Zidane beat Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri to claim the prestigious award. The Chelsea and Juventus coach managed to win their respective league titles but were not able to match what Zidane did with his team.

Author’s Take

No one can argue that Zidane did not deserve the award. He's managed to take Real Madrid to another level and has made then the best in the world.

He's got the perfect blend of youth and experience in his squad and has managed to get the best out of every single player. He might have missed out on the Copa Del Rey but with the two biggies – La Liga and Champions League in the game, no one would be complaining or shedding a tear about it.

This season might not have started the way he might have wanted to but the last few games show why it's too early to rule them out already.
