Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes he would have destroyed the the English Premier League if he had played there.

While talking to the Daily Mirror, the Sweden striker said: “England is a very strong league, with three or four of the best teams in Europe – but, if I had played there, I would have destroyed it, like I have everywhere else.”

He had previously rejected a trial at Arsenal when he was 16, opting for Ajax instead after he was asked for an audition by manager Arsene Wenger to which he famously replied: “Zlatan does not do auditions.”

“Arsenal could have happened, as everybody knows – but I would not do a trial. Who do you think regrets that more, Arsene Wenger or Zlatan?” he added.

“I’m always amused when I am asked about not having tested myself in England. The last time I faced England, which is supposed to be the best players in the Premier League, what happened?” said Zlatan while referring to the four goals he scored against England back in 2012.

“Maybe people need to be reminded that it was the Zlatan show,” he concluded.
