Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a one-year extension to his club contract that will keep him at Parc des Princes till 2016.

The 31-year-old striker joined Les Parisiens in 2012 on a three-year contract from AC Milan and subsequently, played a crucial role by scoring the most number of goals in the league, as his club won the Ligue-1 title after a span of 18 years.

The Swedish international, who was widely linked to a move away from PSG, has quashed all the rumours by confirming that he wants to stay in France for three more years.

He told the club website: “I see no greater ambition in Europe than Paris Saint-Germain’s. I really hope that Paris Saint-Germain are my last big club. This club are like me: just dreaming is never good enough.”

Delighted by the renewal of Ibrahimovic’s contract, the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said: “The new contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the best players in the world, leaves a lasting mark on the history of Paris Saint-Germain and is a very strong signal of intent. Together, we aim to lead the club to the European summit.”
