Collaborations in Fortnite are good for business and the community's morale. When introduced to the metaverse, certain characters create more hype than the main in-game characters. Although this overshadowing is temporary, they help keep the game trending. However, not all collaborations make it in-game.

Some are snubbed halfway through talks, while others are delayed indefinitely. Owing to these factors, there are certain collaborations that everyone wants but will never get. Here are a few popular ones based on community feedback.

1) Legend Of Zelda

Regarding video games with an unforgettable protagonist, storyline, and open-world design, Legend Of Zelda stands out firmly from its competition. Avid fans of the series have been wanting a collaboration with Fortnite ever since the birth of the metaverse in-game.

Sadly, it's doubtful that things will ever come to fruition. Given Nintendo's stance on collaborations with other games, Link will never get to experience Fortnite. Despite the games sharing several mechanics/features, they will have to stay well within the confines of their fantasy realms.

2) Metroid

According to rumors, a collaboration with Metroid was seemingly in the works. Sometime during Chapter 2, Season 6, a Samus Aran skin was supposedly scheduled to arrive in Fortnite in all her glory. However, for reasons unknown, the collaboration was called off.

While the alleged narrative states that Nintendo wanted the character to be an exclusive skin for Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch, the statement remains unconfirmed. Another unconfirmed statement states that the collaboration was canceled due to the then-upcoming game, Metroid Dread, released on October 8, 2021.

However, considering that both parties would have gained a lot of traction from the hype of the collaboration, this also makes no sense for the most part. Whichever is the case, as far as anyone can tell, Samus Aran from Metroid will most probably never become a skin in Fortnite.

3) Power Rangers

Given the look and feel of Fortnite, having Power Rangers in-game as skins will make a lot of sense. They can have their own unique designs, complete with individual Harvesting Tools, Back Blings, and Wraps. However, this collaboration may never come to fruition due to the current circumstances.

Considering how IP distribution has been done, obtaining the right to use the iconic Power Rangers skin may be challenging. Furthermore, with Epic Games focusing on collaborations with trending IPs, Power Rangers may not make the cut.

4) Mortal Kombat

Epic Games has collaborated with Street Fighter on two separate occasions. A total of four skins are present in-game. If characters from this fighting game can make it into the metaverse, why can't characters from Mortal Kombat? This question has long perplexed the community.

While there's no definite answer, most speculate that Epic Games will not collaborate with the franchise due to the inherent brutality it showcases. While this statement would hold true for many of the characters currently in-game, Mortal Kombat stands out for this reason.

5) Pirates of the Caribbean

Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, is a highly requested skin from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Given his personality and charisma, having a version of the character in-game would be a dream come true.

However, following the allegations of domestic abuse against him, according to a Washington Post report, Disney is said to have dropped him from the franchise. That said, although the lawsuit has been resolved, with Johnny Depp still not officially part of the franchise, the collaboration will not be possible at any rate.
