Over the course of 2022, there were a ton of skins released in Fortnite. The year saw an entire chapter (Chapter 3) as well as a little bit of the beginning of Chapter 4, so plenty of battle pass skins were available. Through that time, the Item Shop was also permeating with new skins.

These skins are a primary way for Epic Games to make money. The game is free-to-play, so they don't earn revenue from player count like most other games. Instead, they make a lot of money from V-Buck sales (which they got in trouble for recently).

These V-Bucks often go to skins, and in 2022, these skins were the most profitable for them as they were purchased the most.

6) Beary Cuddly Bundle

In Fortnite's Item Shop, this was an incredibly popular bundle for several reasons. It's a female skin, and they are almost always more popular than male ones. Naturally, SYD is no exception.

It's also a bundle, which players are often more inclined to purchase because this allows them to save V-Bucks and get the entire set, making for a perfect locker setup.

All in all, this Fortnite bundle showed up on the 2022 list for good reasons.

5) Surf Watch Bundle

Another bundle finds itself on the list for the same reasons. Players tend to flock to it every time a bundle is released, and they evidently did so in incredible numbers for Surf Watch. This set is more customizable than most with the skins and cosmetics, so it made for a very popular choice.

Additionally, aquatic-themed female skins are often very popular, much like Sun Strider from Chapter 1.

4) Jack O'Sassin

Halloween skins are also very popular when they come out, so Jack O'Sassin was a highly purchased skin. Fortnite gamers know these skins only come around once a year for a brief period before retreating, so they have to buy them then.

Jack O'Sassin was one of the newest Halloween skins this year, and it only cost 800 V-Bucks. As a result, it was a very popular selection during its time.

3) Concept of Fear Bundle

This bundle contained two skins and their related cosmetics, but what set it apart was that it was a community design, with both skins being designed by the community in a concept contest. Not only is it great for the artists that their designed skins won and were added to the game, but also they were apparently among the most popular skins the entire year.

2) Stash'd

This skin has two things going for it when it comes to popularity. For starters, the black and white color scheme makes it exceedingly easy to blend into the surroundings in a match. At the very least, it won't stand out like a colorful skin does.

It was also only sold for 800 V-Bucks. That's the cheapest a skin can be, so loopers tend to go for skins at those prices.

1) Queen of Hearts

This one is one of the more fun original skins. Many players like collaborative skins like Spider-Man or Darth Vader, but others prefer the original designs. The Queen of Hearts skin is a perfect mesh- it's not an original character, but it is an original skin design.

As a result, players evidently flocked to this skin and made it one of Epic Games' most profitable choices all year.
