Fortnite adds five new Augments to Chapter 4 Season 1

Following a leak from HYPEX, five new Augments are arriving in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 with today's v23.20 update. These additions will be clubbed alongside the existing 21 in-game Augments, and players will be able to get them randomly between matches.

Players can also borrow certain Augments they don't own from their teammates when the Augmentation screen pops up. Here are the five new Augments and their uses in the game:

  • Danger Hero - You briefly regenerate health and gain movement speed when your shield breaks
  • Peely's Plunder - Receive a Treasure Map that will lead you to buried treasure
  • Shotgun Striker - Shotguns give Siphon on hits against players
  • Rarity Check - You gain Siphon on eliminations with common or uncommon weapons
  • Zero Chance - Gain Zero Point Dash when you break an enemy's shield

The five Augments that come with the update bring back classic Fortnite elements from the previous three chapters. For instance, the Siphon game mode became extremely popular in Chapters 1 and 2, and the Augment, which is related to a similar function, will bring back memories of players trying to perfect the shotgun.

Additionally, gaining Zero Point Dash with crystals and zero point fish during Chapter 2 allowed players to dash closer to their enemies much faster. The Augment might prove extremely helpful to players who like to rush their opponents.

Meanwhile, Treasure Maps were last seen in Chapter 3 with the Uncharted collaboration. The classic item is back again in the form of an Augment that can lead players to places where they can dig chests with better loot.

The latest Fortnite update adds several new items and quests to the game, eagerly awaited by players since Winterfest concluded. The addition of these Augments and how loopers use them with the existing ones might be interesting to see in the coming weeks.
