Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has introduced a lot of skins. Many of these have been excellent additions to the Item Shop, such as the Hulk skin and the My Hero Academia crossover skins.

Players often jump at the opportunity to get a skin they've wanted or one that has just debuted in the Item Shop. They often don't think twice about grabbing the next popular skin, which might serve them well.

This leads to Fortnite players often spending V-Bucks they don't want or purchasing a skin they didn't really want, either. Fortunately, there are ways to undo that. Refund tickets have been around for some time and have been a good way to refund items, but can players refund something without one this season?

Can players refund skins without a refund ticket in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1?

Unfortunately, no there is no option to refund an item without a ticket in Chapter 4 Season 1. That may not be the case for the rest of the season, though.

Epic Games stated:

"A ticketless refund lets you return a purchase and have your V-Bucks returned to you without using a Return Ticket. This also allows you to return the eligible purchase even if you do not have any Return Tickets available."

They also said:

"Ticketless Returns are not available by request and are only available for specific items. If an item you purchased is eligible for a ticketless return, you’ll be able to return the item and have the V-Bucks spent returned to you, without using any of your Return Tickets."

So, with the season roughly half over, there's still plenty of time for something to come out that doesn't go right, and Epic Games can offer a ticketless refund for those items.

For now, that's not possible, though. If it does occur, or players have an older item that's eligible for a return, here's how to do that:

  1. Open Fortnite.
  2. Go to Account and Privacy.
  3. Select Return or Cancel Purchase.
  4. Select the correct item from the available items. This list dates back 30 days.
  5. Click Submit Return Request Use Return Ticket
  6. Click Yes. Note that this step cannot be undone. Once you click done, the refund will be complete, and you won't have the item anymore.
  7. Reap the rewards.

Epic Games introduced Refund Tickets a long time ago. Initially, players got three lifetime tickets that they could use during the entirety of the time that they played the game. If they used all three refund tickets right then and there, they wouldn't have any more.

However, update v18.20 introduced a new wrinkle. Now, Fortnite Refund Tickets can be refreshed every 365 days. If players run out of tickets, they can wait a year to get more, but no more than the three they give out.

That is a long time to wait, but it is far preferable to waiting an eternity for no refund tickets whatsoever. The process for refunding a Fortnite item with a ticket is very similar to the steps detailed above.
