The release date of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 has the community turning heads, and not in a good way. After planning to cut the current season two days early, Epic Games then seemingly changed both its mind and the date.

Rather than the current season ending on March 8, 2023, as was stipulated in the official announcement, it's unclear when it might conclude. This has left many players confused, as some posts on Twitter mention March 8, while others mention March 9 as the date for the season's departure. Here's more information about the same.

Usually, when Epic Games makes an announcement, it mentions the exact time and date for when things are going to happen. However, this time around, it seems the developers forgot to do that. In their official post mentioning the early conclusion of the current season, they mentioned no time.

To make matters worse, after Epic clarified that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 would run for the entire duration of March 9, 2023, it still didn't mention an end time. Given that players from around the world play the game, there's a huge time difference between certain regions. For instance, Eastern Time Zone and Indian Standard Time are quite far apart.

To elaborate, when the downtime usually occurs, they do so at 4:00 am ET in the wee hours of the morning. For players in India, that is only 2:30 pm IST in the afternoon. This vast gap in time can cause one time zone to be a day ahead or behind the other.

Thus, when Epic Games mentioned that the last full day across all time zones of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 is March 8, 2023, it left the community confused. Here's how a few fans reacted to the news:

Even Donald Mustard's own brother, Chad Mustard (yes, that's his real name) chimed in on the tweet with a reply of his own:

Epic did make a follow-up post clarifying the downtime for Chapter 4 Season 2 would start on March 10 at 2 am ET, which didn't help much either.

Since this post now contradicts the other one that had mentioned March 8, 2023, as the end date, if anything, it added to the confusion and left players with more questions than answers.

Thankfully, veteran leaker iFireMonkey took the time to clarify things on social media. Here's what he had to say:

"The reason that "March 8th" was mentioned as the last FULL day is because technically in some timezones such as PT, downtime starts on March 9th (11 PM PT), and not March 10th like it does for those in a timezone like ET (2 AM ET). So basically, this season ends at 2 AM ET on March 10th, and the new season will begin later that same day when the servers go back online."

With all that said, it's safe to say that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 is still on track. As always, the servers will go offline prior to the downtime taking place. Hopefully, Epic Games will make a final announcement about the same a few hours before the current season's final moments.
