Unlike other times, Fortnite FNCS 2023 will be a bit different. For starters, it will be a Duos-only game. Matches will occur throughout the year across different Seasons in Chapter 4. Given the prevalent loot pool, certain "Majors" will be easier than others. In fact, each Major will have three different stages. They are:

  • Weekly Competition
  • Surge Week
  • Grand Finals

Each Weekly Competition will last four days every week for three weeks in a row. The top 40 duos with the highest cumulative points on the Series Leaderboard over the course of three weeks will advance to the FNCS Major 1 Grand Finals.

Next comes Surge Week, which will only last for two days and will allow those who did not qualify the first time to try again and secure a spot. Lastly, after FNCS Majors 1, 2, and 3 have concluded, there will be one final FNCS Last Chance Major for professional players to qualify for the FNCS Global Championship 2023.

Start Date

Fortnite FNCS 2023 is scheduled to start on February 2, 2023. The first phase of the year-long event will be FNCS Major 1, followed by 2 and 3 respectively. The two final phases will be the "Last Chance Major" and the Global Championship. Here's a breakdown of the timeline:

  • FNCS Major 1: February 2 - March 5
  • FNCS Major 2: April 13 - May 14
  • FNCS Major 3: July 20 - August 20
  • FNCS Last Chance Major: August 24 - 27
  • FNCS Global Championship 2023: Late 2023 (TBA)

Note: The dates provided for the FNCS Majors are inclusive of "Surge Week" and "Grand Finals"

Global Championship in-person event

As mentioned in the blog, this in-person lan-tournament will occur in Q4 of this year in Copenhagen, Denmark. Players will be able to attend the event in-person or watch a dedicated stream for the same. A total of 75 of the world's best duos will compete for a share of the massive prize pool.

Although the information is still scarce, Epic Games has provided a timeline for the Fortnite FNCS 2023 Championship. It will occur in late 2023, which puts it in Chapter 4, Season 4. It will likely commence in mid-to-late September and conclude this phase of the storyline.

Prize-Pool and Rewards

The Fortnite FNCS 2023 prize-pool will be a whopping $10,000,000. Each Major stage (1,2, and 3) will have a shared prize-pool of $2,000,000, while the Global Championship will consist of the lion's share of $4,000,000.

In addition to prize money, there may also be other rewards, such as cosmetics and other in-game items. Given that this has been the scenario for years, it's likely no different this time. Epic Games should provide an update soon.
