With the release of the v23.30 update on January 31, 2023, Epic Games began working on the so-called Most Wanted feature in Fortnite. This feature was spotted in the game data by data miners who believed that Epic was saving it for Chapter 4 Season 2.

However, the feature was released with the v23.40 update, and players have access to it now. This special event runs until February 28 and rewards players with free cosmetic items.

Here is what Epic Games revealed regarding the new event and the Gold Blooded skin:

"The Cold Blooded have taken over the Island! Bring on the Heat, aim for perfection with new Exotic Weapons, and complete Most Wanted Quests to earn free rewards, including the Gold Blooded Outfit."

The new Fortnite Battle Royale feature is about rising Heat and putting a bounty on your head. Players can earn Gold Bars, gain additional movement speed, and heal out of combat by eliminating opponents. However, these eliminations also increase their Heat and mark them for others.

Increasing and reducing Heat is possible, but it costs 500 gold.

It appears that the Most Wanted event will be available until February 28, when Epic Games will release the v23.50 update. Due to this, the Gold Blooded skin will be available for a limited time. It's also important to note that the free Fortnite skin has two different styles.

The v23.50 update will most likely be the last major update of Chapter 4 Season 1. It will also bring a lot of new content to the game and possibly a new live event.

By releasing the Gold Blooded skin for free, Epic Games encourages Fortnite players to participate in the new activity. Besides the skin, players can earn several new cosmetic items, including a new umbrella.

During the event, Epic will also bring back some of the other heist-themed skins to the Item Shop, including the Wildcard. Additionally, vault keycards are back in the game as well.

Considering that the Most Wanted Fortnite event lasts for a limited time, the skin will no longer be obtainable for free after it ends. However, there is a good chance that Epic will release it to the Item Shop later.
