Fortnite leaks suggest Reload V-Bucks could be coming soon

According to the latest Fortnite leaks, an in-game feature called Reload V-Bucks could finally be released in Chapter 6. The information was shared by leaker @Krowe_moh on X. It was then re-shared by others, such as @HYPEX, @ShiinaBR, and @Loolo_WRLD. Given that this feature was already revealed two years ago, this is not something entirely new.

Fortnite leaks predict the return of Reload V-Bucks

As stated by the aforementioned leakers/data miners, during the Fortnite downtime on December 10, 2024, Epic Games updated a few files related to this feature. This is not confirmation of it being reimplemented, but developers rarely update things that won't be a part of the game. This has been seen time and again through several seasons. As such, Reload V-Bucks could make a return.

This in-game feature would allow players to 'top-up' their V-Bucks. Rather than buying 1,000 or more at once, they could purchase smaller amounts of V-Bucks as per their requirements. For instance, if a cosmetic costs 1,000 V-Bucks, and the player has 800, they could add 200 more V-Bucks instead of buying 1,000. This would allow them to buy just the amount they need and not overspend.

Leakers and data miners are unsure if the feature is returning as is or will be modified. That said, Epic Games usually makes changes and adjustments to things as and when needed. On that note, there is no timeline for its return to the game. With so much going on at the moment, the developers may decide to add or reimplement it when the dust settles.

Will Reload V-Bucks be more expensive than buying V-Bucks in bulk?

At the moment, it is difficult to answer the question since Fortnite leaks regarding this are limited. However, it is a known fact that buying V-Bucks in bulk is cheaper. Epic Games provides discounts to encourage players to buy larger amounts at once. Something similar could be implemented for Reload V-Bucks, although it may not have the same discount as buying in bulk.

This logic also applies to cosmetics listed in the Fortnite Item Shop. Purchasing a Pack or Bundle is cheaper than buying the items individually or via sub-bundles. That said, more details about this feature could be revealed in the coming days or weeks if the leaks are anything to go by.
