Fortnite: Where to read Epitaphs at different Goofy Gravestones

As part of the celebrations for Fortnitemares 2022, Goofy Gravestones were added to the island. Rather than containing epitaphs describing who or what is buried in each grave, they contain one-liners. Given the rich history of the game and the lore surrounding it, some of these epitaphs are rather hilarious.

Others, not so much. However, this will vary from player to player. With that said, Epic Games is awarding 15,000 XP to those who manage to find five Goofy Gravestones and read the epitaphs inscribed on them. Here's how to go about this macabre task.

Where to read Epitaphs at different Goofy Gravestones in Fortnite - A step-by-step guide

1) Find Goofy Gravestones

The first step to completing this challenge is to find Goofy Gravestones. Players need to find and interact with five to complete the task. Luckily, there are 10 of them to be found on the island. Here are all the Goofy Gravestone locations and a map to help provide some visual reference:

• Southeast corner of Shiny Sound
• Southern edge of Chrome Crossroads
• Far southwest of Reality Tree next to Beach Bash
• Outside Willow's Haunt
• Eastern edge of Tilted Towers at Research Lab Minotaur
• Far east of Tilted Towers (below The Flairship)
• Loot Lodge (landmass in the center of Loot Lake)
• Graveyard at Grim Gables
• Eastern edge of Greasy Grove

2) Interact with Goofy Gravestones to read different Epitaphs

Once a Goofy Gravestone has been located, approach and interact with it to progress along with the challenge. Players do not have to wait to read the epitaph for it to register as completed. Merely interacting with them should suffice.

This is useful to note if the area is hostile or if the sound of gunfire fills the air. Players can spend the least amount of time required and rotate to safety after initiating the interaction button.

Fastest way to read five Epitaphs at different Goofy Gravestones in Fortnite

Although players can complete the task by visiting any of the five out of 10 Goofy Gravestones, doing so strategically will speed things up. Here's the route to follow to complete the challenge quickly:

• Land at Shiny Sound and interact with the Goofy Gravestone in the POI
• Find a vehicle and rotate to Grim Gables' graveyard
• Interact with both the Goofy Gravestones and rotate towards Chrome Crossroads
• Once at the POI, interact with the Goofy Gravestone and rotate towards the Research Lab Minotaur
• Interact with the last Goofy Gravestone to complete the challenge

While this route is the quickest, being able to use it depends on the Storm Circle and the distribution of opponents in the area. That said, by using a vehicle in conjunction with a few Chrome Splashes, players shouldn't have too much trouble completing the challenge in one match.

Alternatively, rotating using balloons is also a possibility, as many can be found along the route. Remember to stock up on healing supplies and other mobility items just to be on the safe side of things. If a vehicle or balloon is not accessible, this will allow players to continue their search for Goofy Gravestones unhindered.
